The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) is celebrating after winning two major awards in Dubai for Digital and Employee Experience.

The world-famous business hub, which has been thrice-named ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by the Financial Times, entered the Gulf Digital Experience Awards and the Gulf Employee Experience Awards, which were held in Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel in conjunction with the Gulf Customer Experience Awards.

DMCC presented to judges in the Digital Pioneer category of the DX Awards, while in the EX Awards they put forward IT Director Abdalla Ahmed Al Ali in the prestigious Inspiring Leader of the Year category.

Abdalla heads a team of 14 staff responsible for providing over 90 IT services to DMCC tenants, and his leadership skills have shone through. Judges were presented with details of his “strong commitment and support to team development”, which has led to an exceptional staff retention rate.

Meanwhile, DMCC’s innovative ‘e-signature’ initiative, which dramatically increased the speed that employment contracts can be processed led to judges agreeing they had earned the Digital Pioneer title.

Speaking after receiving his award, Abdalla Al Ali told CXM World:

“I am pleased and honoured to receive such a prestigious award. I have to dedicate this award to the DMCC leadership and colleagues who have created the opportunities and provided the extended support for us. A huge thank you to the event organisers and congratulations to all winners and shortlisted candidates.

He added: “2017 was a great year but there is always more to be achieved. I look forward to building on new experience and working alongside with the leadership and colleagues and help secure the continued growth of the world’s largest and interconnected Free Zone in 2018 and beyond.”
