The Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards are taking place in Dubai on February 20, and ahead of the gala event, CXM World is profiling the submissions by finalists that will be presented to judges. Here we offer insight into entrants competing in the Best Community Development category.

Emaar Community Management

Emaar is entering The Greens & Views complex in this category. Located in Dubai’s Internet City, the development is the “epitome” of a happy, cohesive community, that bridges the gap between generations thanks to its mix of young professionals, families, and older residents.

VFS TasHeel

VFS TasHeel oversees the visa application process for Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this category they will outline to judges how they are at the forefront of the ‘INVOLVE’ campaign to fight Parkinson’s disease.

The Talent Enterprise

A Dubai-based ‘think – and do – tank’, The Talent Enterprise has been shortlisted for its work in promoting The National Growth Mindset Initiative YANMU, which provides young people in Saudi Arabia with an opportunity to become workplace prepared through skill development programmes.

Nahdi Medical

The Saudi pharmacy chain is entering this category with its Diabetes Initiative. This has seen the installation of ‘Diabetes Corners’ in 22 cities, where patients can administer self care, relieving the pressure on front-line medical practitioners.

The firm is also shortlisted for its Billion Step Challenge, which encourages Saudi citizens to walk 10,000 steps per day in order to combat a wide range of illnesses and conditions caused by inactivity.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority

DEWA’s entry in this category focuses on the Al Khair Exhibition, which was held in Dubai last year. It highlighted how prominent social organisations are serving society, and was part of DEWA’s Corporate Social Responsibility plan.
