The 2018 Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards have been held in Dubai, celebrating and rewarding the businesses and organisations striving to make a difference in the Middle East and beyond.
The event, hosted by Awards International at the iconic Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, saw entrants compete for success in over 20 exciting categories, including Innovation in Sustainable Technologies, Water Treatment and Management, and Best Community Development.
A judging panel comprising over 30 professionals working at the heart of sustainability and CSR oversaw presentations detailing best practise, before scoring and deciding the winners in each category.
Taking home the Overall Winner title was the UAE’s leading waste management company Bee’ah, after they emerged as victors in three categories: Green Building, Waste Management, and Environmental Sustainability Programmes.
Other big winners on the day included Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, which claimed the Cause-Related Marketing Campaign and Government Sustainability Initiative awards, and the Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, which won the Sustainability Awareness Programme and Government CSR Initiative titles.
Speaking afterwards, Awards International UAE Managing Director Mark Hamill said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the leading companies in Sustainability and CSR from across the GCC and beyond.
