Local UAE firms prove they can take on, and beat, the best in the world at Dubai’s 3rd International Business Excellence (IBX) Awards. Despite a 20% increase in international firms entering the awards, UAE organisations took home two thirds of the category awards presented by Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General of Dubai Economy at Jumeirah Beach Hotel 9th May. Winners faced their toughest test to date at these awards, with a record 100 organisations making it to the final stages.

Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General of Dubai Economy, said:

– We’re proud to have been a strategic partner of the IBX Awards since they were launched. The Business Excellence Awards programme of Dubai Economy has taken great strides in promoting an excellence culture, helping thousands of UAE business operate at the highest level so they can measure up to the best in the world. Each year these awards prove the UAE is achieving international standards of business excellence across many sectors, as well as cementing Dubai’s position as a leading international hub for business.

Companies from over 20 countries, across four continents, entered the IBX Awards, making it Dubai’s most prestigious international business awards. The IBX Awards are part of a global programme of business recognition designed by Awards International, based on a fully transparent judging process certified by Cranfield University. All finalists will have had a written entry submission, and separate presentation, scored by a panel of judges made up of local and international business leaders.

Mark Hamill, MD, Awards International, said:

We’re proud to have created a fair and transparent competition for local and international firms here in Dubai. Seeing UAE firms take home so many awards is also great, proving they can punch well above their weight on a global level. Congratulations to all the businesses that travelled from near and far to make these the most competitive IBX Awards to date, especially our winners. A special thanks to our sponsors Hamriyah Free Zone, and also to Dubai Economy for supporting this event from the start, proving their unwavering commitment of promoting business excellence in the UAE.

The IBX Awards were set up to recognise business excellence across all key sectors, allowing UAE organisations to compete against the best in the world on home soil. A total of 26 category awards were up for grabs, recognising business excellence in sectors, discipline, people and efforts towards the UAE National Agenda for 2021.
