Dialpad Brings Real-Time AI Voice Tools to Japan
Dialpad has launched its full suite of real-time AI voice and contact centre capabilities in Japan, making advanced AI tools available to Japanese businesses at no additional cost through April 2026.
Starting this week, all Dialpad customers in Japan can access the company’s real-time AI features, including live Japanese transcription, automated call summaries with action items, and AI-powered coaching tools for sales and support teams.
The three-month free access period gives organisations time to test the technology in real business settings and decide how it fits into their daily workflows.
Built for Complexity
The launch covers Dialpad’s entire AI feature set built specifically for voice-based business communication. Unlike add-on AI tools that rely on third-party models, Dialpad’s in-house technology is trained on real conversations. This approach is particularly important in Japan, where speech recognition must account for complex sentence structures, honorific language, and subtle shifts in tone that are common in professional interactions.
The core feature of this launch includes real-time Japanese transcription. During calls or meetings, Dialpad’s automatic speech recognition converts spoken language into text as the conversation happens. This allows participants to follow along, search key moments later, and reduce misunderstandings, especially in fast-moving discussions.
Another key addition is AI Recaps, which automatically generates a written summary after a call ends. The summary consists of the main discussion points, decisions made, and follow-up actions to streamline next steps. These recaps remove the need for manual note-taking and can be shared or edited directly inside the Dialpad platform, helping teams stay aligned after meetings or customer interactions.
Real-Time Assistance for Agents
Users of Dialpad’s Support or Sell products can leverage more advanced real-time assistance, which enables sales representatives and customer support agents to receive live coaching prompts during calls, based on the flow of the conversation. Tools such as AI Playbooks, Live Coach Cards, and Custom Moments can guide agents without interrupting the discussion, helping them stay compliant, handle objections, and follow best practices in real-time.
Additional AI capabilities are expected to roll out later, including AI Scorecards and a Company Dictionary. These features aim to give businesses more control over how language, terminology, and performance standards are applied across teams.
Dialpad is working with SoftBank to make the new AI features available to a wider range of Japanese businesses, using SoftBank’s established enterprise and SMB customer base.
All of these AI features will remain available at no extra cost to Japanese customers through April 2026. While real-time AI tools promise efficiency and consistency, their real value will depend on how well teams use them in day-to-day work, especially in a market where communication style and nuance matter as much as speed and automation.
