ServiceNow has announced its acquisition of AI-driven workplace automation platform Moveworks for $2.85 billion, combining forces to enhance AI capabilities across the workplace.

The move aims to integrate ServiceNow’s advanced agentic AI with Moveworks’ user-friendly AI assistant and enterprise search technology, making life easier for employees at every level.

With thousands of AI agents already deployed, ServiceNow is poised to leverage this acquisition to drive AI adoption and innovation across key business areas, particularly customer relationship management (CRM). The partnership promises to deliver a seamless experience, where employees can quickly find answers to their queries, automate everyday tasks, and boost productivity—all through a powerful universal AI assistant.

Entering the new era of work

Moveworks has successfully implemented AI solutions to automate various processes in organisations, and this integration with ServiceNow will enhance those capabilities by expanding access to additional tools and workflows. From handling payroll inquiries to simplifying recruiting, the Moveworks AI assistant is set to transform how employees interact with company systems and workflows.

Amit Zavery, president, chief operating officer, and chief product officer at ServiceNow, said: “As agentic AI and enterprise-grade search forever change how we work, ServiceNow moved early to empower employees through AI. Moveworks’ talented team and elegant AI-first experience, combined with ServiceNow’s powerful AI-driven workflow automation, will supercharge enterprise-wide AI adoption and deliver game-changing outcomes for employees and their customers.”

ServiceNow’s acquisition is part of its ongoing strategy to expand its AI offerings and automate complex workflows across various departments. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
