Insurance automation company Ascend has unveiled Smart Inbox, an AI-powered inbox for insurance agencies that promises to chew through billing documents so humans don’t have to.

Whether it’s binders, quotes, invoices, or those dreaded commission statements, Smart Inbox reads it all, sorts it, and pushes the relevant data where it needs to go. Built with busy account managers and finance teams in mind, the tool automates tedious workflows for both agency bill and direct bill setups, speeding things up and slashing clerical errors along the way.

“This has been extremely beneficial for my team. AI makes it even easier to process and invoice our clients,” said Wade Millward, CEO of Rikor Insurance Consultancy, who credits the tool for making invoicing faster and less error-prone.

Instead of bouncing between folders and files, agencies can now forward all accounting documents into one place. From there, Smart Inbox gets to work by extracting billing info from binders and quotes to create invoices, analysing commission statements, matching them to the right carriers, and reconciling them automatically with what’s expected in the agency management system.
