The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team has signed a multi-year deal with cloud communications giant Infobip, aiming to turn the traditional race-day experience into something far more interactive: think real-time chats, personalised updates, and AI-fueled insights delivered straight to fans’ phones.

Unveiled during the Miami Grand Prix, the partnership brings together America’s only Formula 1 team and a tech company that already powers messaging infrastructure for companies like Uber, Google, and Nissan. The goal is to reinvent how fans engage with Formula 1 by integrating Infobip’s messaging tools across platforms like WhatsApp, RCS, and in-app channels.

Instead of just watching the race, fans could soon be engaging with AI assistants that answer questions about driver stats, race strategies, or even what’s happening behind the scenes, on the same platforms they already use to text their friends.

Haas F1 team to boost fan engagement on and off the track

Infobip’s technology is already used in the automotive industry to enhance customer experiences during car purchases, and now it’s being brought to the paddock. Haas F1 is hoping to use the same tools to build loyalty and engagement off the track while boosting excitement on it.

Ayao Komatsu, team principal at the MoneyGram Haas F1 team, said: “As an engineering firm at heart, Infobip understands what it takes to continue to innovate and deliver results week in, week out. Infobip has grown quickly and has become a global leader. Such drive is something we appreciate, given our ambitions as a team with a growing global fanbase.”

The timing aligns with a broader surge in demand for rich messaging formats like RCS in North America and beyond, as brands look for new ways to connect directly with audiences.

With Haas currently sitting sixth in the Constructors’ Championship, the move also signals a push to energise its fanbase with cutting-edge tools, something the team believes can make a real difference as the season unfolds.
