Customer Tech Support for Turkeys Goes AI This Thanksgiving
Everything else around this Thanksgiving in the US, and Black Friday around the world, seems to revolve around AI this year, so why not the humble tradition of cooking a turkey?
Ignoring the maniacs dunking frozen birds in boiling oil, this Thanksgiving, US Griller brand Traeger is helping family chefs take the guesswork out of smoking the perfect turkey on their shiny new wood pellet grills (British folk, think posh BBQ, and you can find them in some UK outdoor cooking stores).
Powered by Amazon AWS’s AI customer service solution, Amazon Connect, the pairing are boosting support speed and capability for less stressful Thanksgiving dinners.
A Thanksgiving Tale of Brilliant Birds and Raw Service
Last Thanksgiving, the Traeger support team was apparently overwhelmed by calls from customers smoking turkeys and/or using “Meater” wireless meat thermometers for the first time during the holidays.
This year, the company is prepared for cooking chaos, and has transformed its entire global customer service operation with AI through Amazon Connect.
The team consolidated five different systems into one AI-powered platform that delivers 20% faster response times and 92% customer satisfaction rates, all while AI handles customer call documentation automatically.
The new system goes beyond traditional customer service. Using smartphone cameras and AWS services, customer service agents can help flustered chefs determine in real time whether they’re “bad grillers” or there’s an actual mechanical issue that needs fixing.
If this turkey-heart warming story has triggered a tastebud reaction, you can enjoy the brand’s latest turkey dinner recipe with hot honey glaze, and prepare for your own grilling journey.
