Looking through the list of UK Customer Experience Award finalists, one name popped out from among the list of B2B giants, banks, telcos and other luminaries.

Overclockers UK appeals, largely to my early career as a video game/PC tech journalist. It has provided the nation with high-class gaming PC systems and technology for over 25 years.

Nominated for three awards, Best Business-to-Business Customer Experience, Best Customer-Centric Culture and Best Product or Service Development, Overclockers UK’s site is heavy on the tech news, but talks less about how it has come to be nominated for all these awards.

Expect some detail from the Awards ceremony this week at London’s Wembley Stadium. And more in-depth interviews in the run up to the festive tech season.

A Consumer View of Copilot, AI and Hyper Technology

Their consumer-focused view on technology is also a refreshing change from the endless boosting of whatever the latest business technology has to offer.

For example, they have a spicy view of the pros and cons Microsoft’s Copilot. Now a built-in feature of all Windows variants, Office 365 and the new ranges of AI-enabled Windows 11 laptops that have Copilot as a front-and-centre feature.

There’s even a tip on how to remove Copilot if you find it annoying on your Windows system. We can’t imagine a B2B talking about that type of solution.

Whatever your business and audience, take a look and consider adding a breath of fresh air to your technology or market posts.

The Crossing of the Consumer and Business PC Universe

Since PC technology has become largely commoditised, and there’s little difference between a standard consumer or business PC. It is also fun to look at the sci-fi tinged world of gaming PCs, recalling a time when the technology was powered by fun marketing. As the costly components such as ever more powerful CPUs, graphics cards, storage and coolers became increasingly ludicrous.

Today, with the advanced technology that will power the future PlayStation 6 console in the news, a new Xbox portable gaming PC and big games like Battlefield 6 hitting the shelves.

Now is also a good time to see how the power of these future systems will fit in when business moves more to mixed reality, truly virtual offices and other reasons for an end-user business to upgrade laptops in the near future.

Among all the blandness of business technology and software, enjoy this brief dive into neon colours, hyper-powerful hardware. And celebrate with Overclockers if they win at the UKCXA event.
