With the experimental phase of AI agents and chat over for many firms. Businesses expect to see some ROI on their ecommerce trials and deployments. And the data is showing some strong results.
Insights from sales-bot vendor Rep A confirms some of those assumptions. A new report shows AI agents are driving higher conversion rates, average order values and long-term value.
In the newly released 2025 AI Ecommerce Shopper Behaviour Report, data aggregated from a broad range of retailers that use Rep AI’s Sales & Support Concierge and chatbot demonsrated some attractive results. Hopefully this will put to rest some of the hype vs execution of agentic AI articles.
Our AI agent survey says
Among the standouts were 12.3% of shoppers who engaged with AI chat made a purchase, a rate 4 times the rate (3.1%) of those who didn’t. Among the categories where boosts in conversion rates are highest are apparel (+240%), health and wellness (+247%), home and garden (+427%) and beauty and Skincare (+307%).
The report also looks at how and why the AI is creating this impact, with a deeper dive into the reasons shoppers disengage (lack of product information is #1, causing 37% of drop offs) along with about how merchants can use conversation to turn more shoppers into buyers.
For example, AI helps convert repeat customers, yielding higher-value transactions. And AI-driven interactions foster loyalty, increasing the potential for long-term business growth.
For companies shy of trying AI, now the results are coming in, both hard data and anecdotally, are clear. There’s little time to wait in catching up or getting ahead of competitors who are already seeing the benefits.
