Zoom Moves into Cars with New LG Partnership

LG Electronics announced that its webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP) will include a native Zoom app, making video conferencing available directly from in-car infotainment systems. The development was revealed at IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich, one of the world’s largest mobility events.

The integration means drivers and passengers can join Zoom meetings without relying on phone mirroring or third-party devices. The interface has been adapted for in-vehicle use, with features designed to reduce distraction and comply with safety standards. Instead of a replacement for office setups, LG presents this as a way to make travel time more productive.

Brendan Ittelson, Chief Ecosystem Officer at Zoom, said: “At Zoom, we believe in meeting people where people meet – whether that’s in the office, at home, or even in the car. This partnership marks a major milestone in redefining what’s possible inside the vehicle, helping people communicate and stay connected while on the move.”

Consistency across the Ecosystem

The integration could easily meet the demands of hybrid work and distributed teams. Sales staff, executives, and fleet operators often spend long stretches in transit; ACP with Zoom gives them a secure way to remain connected without waiting until they reach a fixed location. In industries where time on the road is the longest, such as logistics, consulting, or field services, the ability to collaborate from the vehicle could become a competitive advantage.

LG’s ACP builds on webOS, the operating system that already powers over 240 million smart TVs worldwide. That familiarity could ease adoption as the platform is applied across different vehicle models and regions. The consistency makes it easier for enterprises, as employees can use the same collaboration tools in the car like they do in the office or at home.

While LG also unveiled an Xbox partnership for in-car gaming, the addition of Zoom points to a broader role for vehicles in professional life.
